I feel like with these types of things, it's always difficult to draw a line. If we somehow prohibit a mechanic that's in the vanilla game, that opens a slew of other mechanics someone else might find "unfair" and thinks should be discouraged. While on one hand, afk fishing is a relatively cheap way to get items without investing a lot of time, someone who does not have a lot of time might find building a mob farm unfair. And if you do have a lot of time but spend it afk fishing, well, you're still giving up that time to afk fish. As far as I'm concerned, afk fishers just give you enchants at a slower rate than a mob farm, but cause less lag in the process, so I'm okay with them.

You should probably know that we plan on resetting the map once the 1.13 update hits. Right now we're destroying the current map and resetting to a new, temporary amplified map on tuesday, which we'll plan on until the actual 1.13 update. Hope to see you around!

Like I said in discord, probably just until Monday. If people are interested in taking part in the event but can't make it, we might want to extend it a few days? I feel kind of in an awkward place because I started making this because everybody was just waiting for the map reset and now it ends up being the thing that's holding everybody off.

Will the map be reset this Thursday? I've been kind of building on and off on an end-of-the-world event that I've planned for a while and now that I'm finally done with exams and essays I had the time to actually go through and finish it, so this is like, a major bummer.

Thing is, we probably can't reset once the update hits. Plugins like spigot and prism need to be updated for 1.13 as well.

I believe I witnessed it once. Don't remember what version that was though.

Also, with today's snapshot's addition of dolphins and icebergs, all features that were revealed when the aquatic update was announced are now actually in the game, so they're close to the official release.

1.13 was announced for somewhere between April and June. Best case scenario it would've come out 10 days ago, don't feel like that's jumping the gun.

I said that if changing spawners was going to go through in the first place, changing the spawner to a mob not normally found in spawners might be an idea if that mob was already farmable in some other way. This would, for example, not include shulkers, because you can't farm those to begin with. I'm thinking in the realm of things you can already do but making them easier. That's exactly where the line is, so those doomsday theories are both out the window.

Also, let me be perfectly clear: I'm against the ability to change spawners, but if the majority of the community votes in favor, I'd like to go all the way and add things like creeper and pigmen spawners.
