If there was a way to make it either optional or more challenging to get your items back, that would be really cool. I don't mind either way, but I'm also not one to die often. I see both sides, while no, you don't have to worry about your items despawning, you would still need to go back to where you died to get your stuff. But I also see dying in lava and losing all your stuff as a part of the vanilla experience. Personally I think that it's okay as it is, as if you die due to lag Rev always returns your things. But I also see why people want graves. Dying wouldn't necessarily be completely nerfed, but you wouldn't have the "OH F*** DID ANYTHING FALL IN LAVA DID I GET EVERYTHING" feeling.

Maybe if there was a way to make the grave despawn after a certain amount of time. I can see that actually benefiting the server performance if you could make the grave disappear after the standard 5 minutes, as instead of a full inventory's worth of entities floating around, it'd be a single block with the items inside so it wouldn't be dragging the server down, though I don't believe it does normally, but with 1.13 being so dang laggy who knows.


I do agree with Enderan on the datapack thing, datapacks are technically vanilla. We don't have to change a single thing on our side for the changes to be made serverside, however it should always be an almost 100% yes on a vote before putting it in, if the vote is close then I don't think we should put it in, as with all the other things we've discussed.

I'm planning on making a haunted house/maze in the future, possibly even done by halloween. I have a build planned out, but if anyone has any input they'd like to give i'd love to hear it! Location is unknown at the moment but would possibly like it done in either a roofed forest or jungle.

With a voting system, the people who need to avoid phantoms are able to sleep. Otherwise if you're being chased by one others can pass the night for you and they'll burn in the daylight. It should be more convenient in preventing phantoms.

Yes, I'd be 100% down for a majority vote system. That way we can skip the afks and if someone needs night they have a chance to say so before majority hits. It would solve most of the problems people have with a 1 person sleep. If we could set it up so that one vote for no will stop voting and keep the night going, it would be better. Besides, this community isn't like most servers. If someone speaks up and wants a few nights at full length, most of us will listen and get out of our beds, thus not having enough votes to pass.

Gonna claim the ocean temple around -1300 -1800 and the few surrounding islands. It's probably gonna be a big farming area so if you would like to build a farm there let me know.

I know we already had a couple topics about this but I'd like to put them all in one post to refresh memories. (and I also didn't want to necro a bunch of old posts)

1: loot tables
are we planning on doing any custom mob loot like dragon dropping elytras or custom loot tables for dungeon loot and stuff?

It'd be cool to, instead of making shulker spawners like what was discussed and dismissed, make them drop 1-2 shells 100% of the time, making shells less of a pain to get, while not overloading the world with shulker boxes because there will still be a finite amount of them.


2: custom crafting
are we planning on doing any custom crafting recipes?

I think it would be cool to have crafting recipes for redying wool and stuff, and possibly crafting recipes for rarer uncraftables/nonrenewables. Like maybe crafting regular clay balls out of dirt and slime, or pieces of quartz (or quartz blocks) out of netherrak, iron, and flint.

These are just examples, although clay and quartz are harder to come by once more people start popping in and recipes would make it much easier on builders since clay's not useful for crafting and you usually only need a small amount of quartz for redstone stuff

I know people were asking about custom crafting but some of the recipes seemed a bit too overpowered and not everyone had an agreement on them.


3: command blocks
are we having anything special like enderman not able to pick up blocks?

also, instead of a 1 person sleep system we could have a % based system so if someone needs the night available they have time to speak up, and the majority of people here are very cooperative and understanding, I know that people had mixed opinions on a one person system so this could be a middle ground.

Like I said I know we've talked about this stuff before but it's difficult looking through the various posts and pages to find everyone's opinions about it. These are also time consuming and difficult to make work correctly sometimes, so I'm not expecting anything special because rev's doing this from his free time and i'd rather not put any stress on him or the mods for something that we don't necessarily need. These are just possible middle grounds to a few of the discussions I read.

If interested I will post links to videos that show you how to do some of them.

Awesome, I'm excited for a new start! the update is planned for sometime early to mid spring ish. At least that's what they're hoping for, but the current snapshots are still missing quite a lot of stuff, so it could be late spring to early summer at the latest.

The upcoming update shouldn't break existing worlds, looks like a really solid update at the moment and I'm really excited for it :O

Personally I'd be down for a server reset once 1.13 or 1.14 comes out, I would love to start over and see a new spawn town grow but I know there are lots of new people here too with builds they'd like to finish, so I'm okay with playing on the same map too.

Feel free to take it down or move it, but there is now a nice little tree at -200 190. Lots of presents!!!

Don't be greedy, take only one or two things from a chest please, I want as many people as possible to get gifts ^_^

(the tree still needs a nice little end crystal star if anyone can provide one temporarily)

I thought the butts were done with the server for a while at least. didn't they also own a couple of shops that got repossessed?
